Moderator Changeover Plans
Due to a combination of stress, burnout, health issues, and computer problems, Kiyuu and I will be stepping down as moderators of Queen of Hearts. Though we both love this game and have enjoyed much of our time here as moderators, we are at this time unable to continue on in these duties or give this game the full attention it and you, the players, deserve.
Due to this, we're currently holding moderator applications, to bring on at least two new mods to replace us, if not more. It's our hope that one or more of the new mods will have previous game modding experience, but it is not a requirement to apply.
No single moderator will be responsible for every aspect of game maintenance and upkeep, but all are things that are necessary for the continued running of this game. Moderator job loads are variable to circumstances.
The following is the run-down of many of the duties that come with the job.
Again: no single moderator will be responsible for every single duty on this list -- rather, this is the list of things you and your fellow moderators will need to divide amongst yourselves to make sure that QoH can grow and flourish.
As for me, I can remain in the background to help come up with ideas about the basic theme and setting, if necessary, but I will no longer be acting as head moderator, nor will I be running events, playing the NPCs, etc.
Now that the wall of text is over, here's where we tell you what to do to apply. Just drop a comment to this post listing your name/handle and contact information, your experience as a moderator, and what you'll be able to do. All comments will be screened, and we'll make our decision on who to bring into the fold in a week.

✤Applications
This includes reviewing all character applications submitted, the judging thereof, and writing up acceptance, revision and rejection notices. This also includes answering questions, taking note of player reviews, handling canon updates, and so on. You won't need to know every fandom, but you may be required to do a little research on characters you don't know.
✤Plots/Events
This covers drafting/planning game events, creating and updating the game's plot calendars each month, as well as running the events themselves. You'll be responsible for making the necessary posts both IC and OOC, as well as controlling the game's various NPC accounts. Game circumstances may require you to update or change events as they go, so you'll need to be flexible and communicative to the playerbase when necessary.
✤Organization
This is pretty self-explanatory, and covers maintaining schedules, calendars, making sure directory page information is complete and up to date. Additionally, you'll need to delegate tasks to assistants, as well as work with your fellow moderators to designate who will be responsible for which tasks.
✤Communication
The biggest task that faces every moderator is making QoH as a fun and enjoyable game as possible for our players. It means answering questions about rules, theme, game mechanics, and more, as well as listening to ideas and criticisms with an open mind. Much of this comes in the form of comments to the FAQ, suggestions, and complaints posts, but some matters can come up over IM, PM, and other methods.
✤Mediation and Disciplinary Action
Unfortunately, sometimes players don't always get along with one another, or break the game's rules. As a moderator, you may be required to mediate player disputes, warn players for committing infractions or engaging in disruptive/aggressive behavior. You may be required to penalize players and discuss with them what negative actions they committed and explain their penalties, and in extreme circumstances you may have to ban such players from QoH, and explain to the game base why such action was necessary. Though we always hope such extreme measures won't come up, it is something that may fall to you to handle.
