Suruga will... most likely be cheering people on with some popcorn and wishing everybody good luck.

Samus is gonna primarily be a warrior and she can do formation movement (thank you army years), aerial tactics (thank you personal gunship) and weapon proficiency (thank you... everything else). She'll be putting her clothes (read: armor) on once the battle starts. As an aside, she can do some engineering since she has designed at least one of the many ships she's piloted in canon.

Meiling will also be a warrior because I'll probably have her get power-nerfed at some point as opposed to actually making herself useful. Why? Her life, that's why.

Raven, assuming she's brought up to speed about this, can be a pretty darn good scout seeing as how she can fly, teleport and make platforms. Taking groups of people along with her is possible, though being teleported by her can leave you with a cold and... "creepy" feeling.
