july plot
Beneath the cut is a full outline of this month's event, please use it to BEGIN YOUR PLOTTING.Quick Nav: Questions | Akiha, Akira, Alessa, Alice, Belarus, Dizzy, Fionna, Gal, Gavril, Grell, Kanako, Katina, Ky, Lambda, Larry, Meiling, Misery, Nue, Ovelia, Raven, Reimu, Samus, Sanae, Sapphire, Sayaka, Suruga, Tao, Urd, Vivi, Xion, Yayoi, Yuyuko, Zinc
PLOTTING POST

Part I. On the evening of July 2nd, seven women of the Garden will be whisked away without so much as a sound. Perhaps their friends and neighbors are concerned, but as of yet there is no evidence of foul play. The Queen and the Incarnae are aware, but at this time the Queen is refusing to negotiate with terrorists and the Incarnae are dividing, some less keen to do nothing than others. The observant may notice that all of the songbirds have disappeared from the trees. As for the captives themselves, they will wake in shackles aboard the Labrys, a vast and stately pirate vessel. They will find themselves feeling weak, any powers they possess inhibited by something they cannot identify. There they will be greeted by the Pirate Queen and her skeleton crew. What the women may glean from her is up to them, but she will make it known that she is holding them for ransom, and that their life and safety is in the hands of the Queen of Hearts. Being a kindly hostess, the Pirate Queen will not keep her captives corralled in a cell. They are free to walk the ship, but they will be watched and there will be a ball and chain to drag. There are no other living creatures aboard the vessel; all of its crew are walking skeletons. The women will find, despite their chaperons, there are occasional opportunities to slip messages over the rails. Pray they fall somewhere they can be found. Captives are free to post their missives to the main comm, but will be unable to reply. The Labrys: a vessel which does equally well on water or in the sky. At this time, she is floating a great distance above the Garden proper, hidden from sight amongst the clouds. Part I will encompass a full week. This is to give players time to read this post and plot with one another, as well as to give the damsels a bit of head start in speaking to the Pirate Queen and devising any messages they would like to send. For our damsels, we will be posting a log which will house them and their experiences until they are released. There they will be free to interact with one another as well as the Pirate Queen, the Damsel, the skeletons, and some setting interaction. We did say there was treasure aboard this ship, didn't we? Part II. A week later, on July 9th, the Warrior Princess will address the Garden. Depending on the messages that are sent by the captives, the women of the Garden may already be aware that something is amiss, but the Warrior Princess has lost patience with the inactivity of the Queen and will make this clear. At this point, a number of activities will become available: Scouts: The Warrior Princess wants to know the Pirate's exact location and will be deploying scouts accordingly. She will ask for this specifically in her address. Obviously, those with the ability of flight will have more success in this particular scenario, but all are welcome and appreciated. Scouts will be advised not to engage the enemy alone, as her power nerfing spell could drop them from the sky. Engineers: The Warrior Princess has acquired from the High Priestess the plans to a Tamamushi machine. She will need a variety of clever people to begin work, and quickly. Supplies will be provided to them... as well as a great deal of pressure to hurry. Engineers may find some assistance in the robots of Antikythera, the grass-element pokemon, and perhaps even a few of the foxes. There may also be a need for weapon-smiths, which would likewise fall under this category. Warriors: The battle itself will commence once there are enough machines to get everyone skyward. While the engineers are building, all warriors will be called to training with the Warrior Princess. She and any other volunteers will be teaching formation movement, aerial tactics, as well as weapon proficiency. Player-character instructors are more than encouraged, as instruction from the Warrior Princess will be handwaved. Ambassadors: The Queen has refused to parley, but at the insistence of some of her Incarnae... she will sit for an audience with the women of the Garden. Paying the ransom is the end game here and convincing her of it is an important task. Should characters have trouble with the task, the High Priestess can close the deal. This will be taken care of via ongoing comm post before and during the battle, so keep your eyes peeled for it. These positions may be overlapped. Play out whatever interests you; we are not imposing any such restrictions. Part III. The battle will begin officially on Friday, the 13th and proceed in two waves. The first is the solid defense of the ship. The Pirate Queen will show her ability to manipulate her skeletal crew in unexpected ways, creating enormous shields of bone while others ward off the incoming Tamamushi with flaming arrows, cannonballs, and other deadly projectiles. It will take time to smash through these bone shields. The second wave is after the destruction of these shields. The warriors will be able to close in on the vessel and begin to overwhelm the crew on deck. For her final defense, the Pirate Queen will release a great skeletal serpent, and the clouds surrounding the ship will burst into thunderstorm, threatening those on Tamamushi. We will provide you with a log space for those interested in playing out any part of this battle. On this post, players are welcome to label their threads to take place at ANY TIME during the battle. You do not need to wait for an announcement that the shields are broken or that the serpent is released. We want to leave things as open as possible for people to play what they want at the pace they want. All of the activities from the previous section (Scouts, Engineers, Training, Ambassadors) will continue during the battle! The Pirate Queen's power-nerfing spell is cast individually, meaning in the chaos of a battle it would be much too difficult for her to catch all of you. However, if you would like a dose of it, you are free to do so! Part IV. On the 23rd, the Queen will decide that it is time to compromise. She will very firmly call everyone, the Pirate Queen and her ship included, back to the ground. Once there, the bears will step in to ensure no further fighting goes on. The captive women will be exchanged for a crate of bottled faeries, which the High Priestess had been keeping since the previous debacle, and the women will return safely to land. After being released from the Pirate Queen, the spell subduing their powers will take a few days to wear off. Otherwise, they have been unharmed and may leave the ship with a little something-something. The Pirate Queen's ship has been to many worlds. Please begin to contemplate what you might like to take away with you. As the plot closes up, we'll do a quick mod-vetting just to be sure there's nothing game-breaking and you'll be on your way! This final exchange will be handled via mirror broadcast on the main comm. The Queen will be very tired of all this nonsense, however, and will not be fielding further questions at that time. Won't you be busy welcoming the captives home anyway? Aftermath. The remaining Tamamushi that have not been destroyed in battle will be taken by the High Priestess. The Labrys will make 'port' out on the dunes, and the Pirate Queen will be hanging around the Garden to gloat about what she deems a victory. As for the Garden itself, it has been marred by falling cannonballs and burning arrows as well as littered with bones... maybe a little cleanup is in order? The observant may notice the warbling of songbirds has returned to the trees. THAT'S THE GIST OF IT. Please take this information and begin collecting your thoughts and brainstorming with your fellow players. Ask us questions! While the plot will be beginning this week, the first week was purposefully left slow and quiet to allow everyone time to get their thoughts together, and while the plot officially ends on the 23rd, you really have the whole month and then some to enact your plans. Participation in this plot is not mandatory. In every battle there are civilians, and you are welcome to be one, carrying on with life as usual. There will just be... a battle overhead. Nothing weird or anything. |
