NEW YEAR'S EVE MASQUERADE PLANNING POST

A few OOC guidelines for the party:

—Characters must arrive at the Viridian Pavilion in the mask and dress they were given; after they receive their invitation, they'll find something appropriate in their wardrobe, closet, dresser, or wherever else they keep their clothing.

—The masks are magical. Once put on, they cannot be removed until the stroke of midnight on New Year's Day. Additionally, they possess properties which obscure the identity of the wearer. Even if your character has distinctive features that would be recognizable were they wearing a normal mask (such as unusual hair color or style), other characters will be unable to recognize them. Giving someone their name becomes impossible; they won't feel a sudden inability to say their name so much as a complete lack of interest in revealing their identity.

—There's no magic in the food or drink as a whole, but random items may contain mood- or behavior-altering spells at your discretion.

That said, get your planning on!

(Also, we thought it should be mentioned that there's another party going on at the Tohno Mansion! Feel free to have your characters visit both, or one or the other.)

What happens to characters who start at the ball and then move to the other party before midnight? Would the mask still be stuck, and would the magic properties extend beyond just the Pavilion?

Also, what exactly happens to characters who show up without these things to the Pavilion?

Caprica will be wearing this and also this. She's a sociable thing, so either she'll approach your character or your character can approach her, one or the other. Mostly she's using the party to distract herself from her feelings about being separated from her boyfriend again. :| But she's also gonna genuinely try to have a good time.

And she does know how to dance a little, if anyone wants to dance with her. /encourages this

Kyoko will go for fun! Austria will also be there, but her mood is going to be awful, so, to anyone that potentially tags her, keep that in mind.

Subaru is unsure about attending the dance at the Pavilion, but she will definitely be at Akiha's party wearing this dress () and WITHOUT her mask... at first.

If someone talks her into, escorts her to, or otherwise convinces her to go to the other party. (Or you ask me OOCly since I'm pretty flexible; I just need to have the right continuity!)

Also, the New Years kissu is free if anyone would like to make that happen. ^^

She's just now coming to terms with liking girls and that it's okay to strike up a romance here in the Gardens despite sort-of having a boy back home, so I would like her to kiss someone by the end of the night! This doesn't have to become an actual ship or anything, just one kiss, maybe at midnight.

It's about time that I throw Marcy out there! The pavilion dance will be for fun while the party at the mansion will be for other reasons. Given how much of a tomboy she is the wardrobe decided to play a very big trick on her!
