layout change, feedback requested

Good morning, Ladylanders!

To make our comms a bit easier to read, we've been contemplating a change of our layouts, but we're not going to do so without getting your feedback and suggestions first.

I've whipped up a prototype of something we might consider using here on our lovely Damsel's journal:

Please take a look, and do let us know if you have any thoughts or needs in the matter.

It really wouldn't do us any good to change it in the pursuit of readability, only to make it difficult for someone else, so thank you for your time.

also: do your activity check

Just took a quick glance at it on my way to bed, but I noticed the font on journal names and the lines with tags are in a rather small font size. I run in 1080p resolution, but on a VERY large monitor, so I have to squint to see it.

It also squishes anything that is centered. Like the recent Activity check becomes about 4 pages worth of scrolling. The narrow space for posts is also bothersome. There is all this white space between the right sidebar and the side of my window.

The background is also VERY bright, compared to the default off-white of the comment pages, and the post dates and times are nearly impossible for me to read without highlighting.

Overall, I like the colors and the sidebar, but it could use some tweaking.

I think the font changes and overall tweaks to the margins worked really well! The white border I don't actually mind, since it pops out. I'm kind of shallow and check icons before I read posts most times, anyhow, haha.

The only tiny pet peeve I have left is about the cursor: I'd like to stick to standard behavior, since I have trouble telling when I mouse over a clickable link if the mouse does what it wants instead of what I expect (in this case, the arrow + question mark was hard for me to tell at first; I much rather prefer the default cursors!)
