Today at the Library, there appears to be a bit of a to-do. There is an odd assortment of Incarnae hanging signs and summoning visitors to come inside. The Damsel, The Girl, The Mother, and even The Vamp seem to have taken an interest in this project. They're putting on a play, would you like to try out? They have scripts ready for The Nutcracker and the Mouse King. You can do a reading, right here and right now. They don't seem to take no for an answer, and aren't above blackmail. (Did you succumb to the Woman in the Well? Expect them to hound you. Dirty consciences are easy targets.) There are eight main characters, each of whom may have an understudy that is also affected. There are also two armies, good and evil, that can take as many members as signups. Signups begin today on the 15th and will end on the 20th. For this event, we will be doing first come first serve rather than a randomization of all possible signups. The play will begin on the 25th and be put on to the end of the month. All of the players will find themselves stuck in character for the week of the show. Other helpers needed for the play are: set-builders, costume designers, and orchestra members. A log for those who wish to play out any aspect of rehearsals will go up on the 20th. |
Marie Stahlbaum A young girl, eager for Christmas. Compassionate, determined, and brave. She is the heroine of our story and every bit the princess Pirlipat is not. Frida Stahlbaum Marie's older sister, the inconsiderate one who breaks the Nutcracker. Louise Stahlbaum Marie's younger sister, mild-mannered and sweet. Drosselmeier Godmother to the Stahlbaum children, a very mysterious clockmaker and inventor who has come from the land of the dolls. Her daughter has inherited the Nutcracker curse, and so Drosselmeier watches over her, waiting for someone who can break the curse. The Nutcracker Secretly Drosselmeier's neice, cursed after freeing Princess Pirlipat from the same appearance. The Nutcracker is earnest and courageous, and is always there to help others. Toy warriors Good soldiers, loyal to the Nutcracker. The Mouse Queen A cruel and vengeful monarch. Kills Madame Mouserinks's children, attacks and blackmails Marie, and tries to kill the Nutcracker. Mice warriors Evil soldiers, loyal to the Mouse Queen. Princess Pirlipat The mouse queen's daughter. Spoiled, ungrateful, and superficial. She is the former bearer of the Nutcracker curse. Madame Mouserinks She and her children snuck in to eat up the Queen's banquet and were punished for it. Crafty and vengeful, she's the one to cast the curse on Pirlipat. |
