The character I want to try out is Izayoi Sakuya.

Ahhh Sakuya. I can understand the worry about her especially. The key thing to note is that despite her being around for a while and showing up a bunch, we still really have no idea who or what she is. This is seen even in the canon, as Akyuu suggests the former Vampire Hunter idea.

Of course, first thing above all else is to take a look at everything she is in. Interviews, the games and such. This should be obvious, but I would feel bad if I didn't mention it.

Next, how she acts. Sakuya is polite, but no necessarily nice. She doesn't seem to really care for others, outside of those at the mansion probably. After all, Miss Enma did mention that Sakuya was far too cold to others. And when the Judge has to mention that sort of thing, you have a problem.

Now, that's not to say she's polite all the time. Heavens no. She can easily make some catty remarks or death threats (for all those are worth). But even so, she never becomes vulgar. She still manages to maintain the 'Elegant' part of her title for the most part. Replacing broken tea cups with broken tea cups aside.

Speaking of that, it has been shown she does some pretty weird things. Now whether those were merely circumstantial or Sakuya being a bit of an odd person, I honestly don't know. But as she hangs around youkai so much, her thinking is likely far different from others anyway.

Now then, her job. As a maid who can warp time and space, she really is perfect at her job. It wouldn't be all that far off to think that she does every other task a maid would do perfectly as well. Even if food is an odd topic, all things considered. She is loyal, but not to a fault. She gladly serves her vampire Mistress, but would disobey or hide something from her if she felt the need to/felt like it.

The others in the mansion, or rather, the named ones at least. Who cares about an army of useless fairy maids. If Sakuya cared about anyone, it would be these people. I would say that Sakuya does personally care about the wellbeing of them, not out of her duty but as herself. We see plenty of Sakuya and Remi, so there is little to say about them besides that there should be a strong trust between them. Patchy and her are much less close, but still familiar and know each other well, although with it being Patchy, her general attitude is harsh to nearly everyone. Meiling, from what we've seen, is not actually being stabbed constantly. In fact there has been more evidence to say that the only time violence is involved is if they're in a fight, in which case Meiling is obviously fooling around. Koakuma is a blank slate. Flandre I would suggest talking with someone who plays her, since interpretations on her vary.

Lastly, we have Sakuya and being human. She mentions constantly that she would prefer to live a human life and death, and even get's angry at being called otherwise, 'dog meat' had 'dog' being more offensive to the point where Sakuya is going on about 'human meat'. Her need to remind people of this may be seen as suspicious. I'm not going to tell you what to think but just remember that Sakuya has a bunch of theories on her about who and what she is. Also, her age. 10-20, yeah sure ZUN, learn to draw. But really, it's suggested that she is far older than what she appears to be, whether by time manipulation or by virtue of her not actually being human, but we of course don't know.

Sakuya is a tricky character, due to the fact guessing her past and relations is a tough subject.

But other people may disagree on what I say (or that I may have forgotten something), what with interpretations being a big point to Touhou characters, but this is just how I see it, without completely making up a backstory for her.
